That’s right! The Alchemist Brewery was just given approval for a land permit where they can build their new brewery. The permit they received “authorizes the construction of a single building for a craft brewery and retail sales area consisting of approximately 15,000 square feet.” The “footprint” of the brewery will be 9,600 square feet, with a 5,000 square foot mezzanine. They will build the new brewery on a four acre piece of land that the Kimmich’s purchased from Stoweflake Resort which is located on Cottage Club Road. They are expecting to close the deal in 30 days according to Chuck Baraw, president of Stoweflake Resort.
The Stowe brewery will produce other Alchemist beers like Focal Banger and will also sell the highly rated Heady Topper in the visitor center as well. Jenn Kimmich also said they are creating an “agrarian style” garden by surrounding the brewery with hops and cherry trees. Its been a long road for The Alchemist. They applied for the permit to build a brewery with retail space in Stowe in August 2014 and now the hard work is starting to finally pay off. There is a 30-day appeal period for the permit but it seems that they will be breaking ground very soon.
In other Alchemist news… This past weekend was the first time they used their new ticket system for can releases. They sold 300 tickets which would give you access to a case of mixed cans of Focal Banger and Petit Mutant and 2 pours of Focal Banger. They also released the new approved Focal Banger cans which look pretty awesome if I do say so myself… Check them out!
